CakePHP v4 support/end of life

Hi,

I can’t find anything on the website - so asking here…

How long will CakePHP v4.x be supported for? Just wanting some ideas of when I should be looking into moving to CakePHP v5.

cheers, Dean

We will add a separate page to book.cakephp.org where it’s easier to find this kind of information.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Hi. I look the page too.

The URL above lists the date as December 10, 2026, but the table in the wiki indicates that support lasts until “The release of 6.0” at version 4.6.

Which one is correct?
If the wiki table is incorrect, I would like it to be corrected to avoid confusion. Where should I submit a request for this?

I have talked with the rest of the team an we decided to adjust this to be focused on the next major realease. Meaning CakePHP 4 will receive security fixes until CakePHP 6.0 has been released (TBD).

Thanks for your comment.

I have a follow-up question. The text below the table in the page, “Receive security fixes until September 2026.”
Does this apply to only CakePHP 4.4 and 4.5?
And should I assume that for version 4.6—as indicated in the table—support continues until version 6.0 is released?
