I am new to cakephp and coding in general. I came across 2 books that teach cakephp 1.5. Is the information these books cover so out of date that they are worthless or is there some basics that are still relevant today?
This is strange, as there never was a CakePHP 1.5. It went up to 1.3, then 2.0 through 2.10 (I think), 3.0 to now 3.10, and 4.0 to 4.2. There were major changes between 1.x and 2.x, and between 2.x and 3.x. 3.x to 4.x is a relatively small change.
It was 1.3 my apologies. Is there anything I can learn or is it all outdated?
It’s all super outdated. I suppose you could learn basic concepts of MVC, but almost no details will be applicable to any new app you might write.
