I am reactivating the Mailer Class in my application.
Unfortunately I get confused with exact relationship between:
setTemplate
setLayout
setTheme
Is there an example somewhere in this world, to get an idea how these work together?

did you read this already:
Mailer - 5.x
This explained the use of setTemplate and setLayout very well. I am using it likes its described there. But I am not working with setTheme
