Add a folder for non cakephp related flles

Hello,

I have no experience in handling cakephp website. Currently in the server, I cannot add any folders at the root folder or in webroot folder as it will prompt me this message.

Error: The requested address ‘/webroot/edm/’ was not found on this server.

I did some searching, it says something to do with defining the new folder path somewhere but I’m not sure about this. Can someone enlighten me regarding this matter? Thanks.

Create folder in webroot

webroot/
   css/
   img/
   js/
   edm/
       myfile.ext <-- here

Access via url http://mydomain.com/edm/myfile.ext
