Over the past several years, my original focus has expanded from data analysis (IBM Cognos, Tableau). I wasn’t happy with the way our EDW was modeling the data. So I learnt Linux, R, and MySQL and started modeling the raw data the way I thought should be modeled. I was trying to avoid getting into front-end although I see a need for it. It seemed like a complex landscape and ever-changing. After reearching, I decided that cakePHP offers hope and is my best option. Learning PHP, too. It’s all dev at the moment, running LAMP on a Dell desktop that was about to be sent off to the warehouse for disposal. Also testng small low-cost instances on AWS.
