# Upgrading From 2.9.4 to 4.0 (latest Version)

I am on Cakephp version 2.9.4 and wanted it to upgrade on Cakephp Version 4.0.  
Can anybody tell me what were the steps to make it done?  
My Current Composer.json is:

Kindly remember that I haven’t been updated on CakePHP so it will help me if you could brief me.

Variations on this have been asked here a bunch of times, and answers are always pretty similar. Search for “update” in the top toolbar and several of the results should be useful.
