# Upgrade from old cakephp version

hi, i’m new and i need some help over an old cake application based on release 1.1.8  
is it possible to move the application on a newer version of the framework without making drastic changes?

Hi, unfortunately CakePHP 1.1 is very very very old and many large changes have been done between then and the current 3.6 release (In fact there have easily been over 200 releases since 1.1.8).

Your best bet would be to re-write your application in CakePHP 3.x.
